Our Salon Journey

Michele Spooner entered into the hair industry in 1989 and in 1995 she purchased Shear Heaven in Cold Lake Alberta. Michele quickly established Shear Heaven as the community's premier salon. In 2000, Shear Heaven went through a re-engineering of our salon. Shear Heaven went from a commission salon to team base salon. We based our salon's value on the ability to provide a financial growth opportunity for the staff.

To meet the challenges of successful growth Shear Heaven knew it had to meet certain needs; offering outstanding service to our employees and customers. Shear Heaven was the first in its area to change from commission based pay to team based pay which provides staff the stability of a guaranteed paycheck, benefits and instill the Spirit of Teamwork.
